The first week of school went smoothly, despite some changes in faces and policies.

Sixth and Seventh graders have become members of PHS and are learning how to navigate their way around and manage their time (in class AND at their lockers), slowly, but surely!

The Fall Sports season has begun with the Varsity Football Jamboree on August 23rd at Dekalb High School, where our Panthers had a great showing!  The Varsity Softball Jamboree is August 29th, and the regular season for Football begins August 30th with a road game in Rock Port (7:00 PM).  The next day, August 31st, our Softball team will participate in the North Platte Tournament, playing at 9:45, 1:00, and 4:00.  Junior High Football and Softball teams started practicing on August 19th, and their contests begin the week after Labor Day.

The High School staff welcomed PHS alumnus Mr. Zane Reed on board this year for JH Math, Health, and PE.  He continues to coach several sports for the Panthers as well.

A few reminders:

  • Cell phones are prohibited during the school day--leave them at home or locked away.  NO student cell phone use is allowed at all from 7:50 AM to 3:36 PM, except in extenuating circumstances with the principal's approval.
  • Follow the dress code as it's outlined in the JH/HS Student Handbook--no inappropriate logos (alcohol, drugs, etc), no sleeveless shirts/cropped tops, no hats, shorts/skirts must reach to the fingertip of your longest finger while standing.
  • Students are not allowed to be in the parking lot during the day.
  • All parents/visitors must report to the main office and items for students may be left there for students to come and get.

Thank you all for a great start to school year 2024-25!  #GoPanthers
