Students Honored By DAR
The Gallatin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution hosted their President’s Tea on Feb. 14 at the First Baptist Church in Gallatin. One award presented was the DAR Good Citizen Award. It is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. Each county school selects one student who best demonstrates the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Selected this year from Gallatin was Peyton Jones, son of Brent and Heather Jones.
Also honored at the event was Tyler Butler, son of Willie and Becky Butler, who was one of the winners of the American History Essay Award. Tyler wrote the winning 7th grade essay, WORLD WAR I: THE WAR TO END ALL WARS.
