Pattonsburg R-II School Update

Scott Ireland

Monday, March 16, 2020

Pattonsburg Staff, students, and parents

First I would like to thank you for your patience as we continue to work towards keeping your child(ren) safe while providing them an education. This situation is something we have never had to deal with and continues to be an ever changing event.

With the drastically changing situation, many schools in our area have made the decision to cancel schools for two or more weeks. Regrettably, we are now in that situation. Pattonsburg will be in session tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17, 2020. Pattonsburg WILL NOT be in session on Wednesday, March 18 through April 5, 2020.

Tomorrow will be used to prepare our students information, expectations, enhance schoolwork so they will be prepared academically upon their return to school. If you do not feel the need to send your child to school tomorrow, we will completely understand and we will provide alternate times to pick up their materials. Materials will be available for pick up Wednesday 3 to 7 or Thursday 10 to 2. If your child does attend school tomorrow, materials will be sent home with them. Your child will be provided a way to access their teachers through apps to help enhance their progress. If your student has an IEP, Mrs. Morris will contact you for services, if applicable.

With the school closure, come activities cancelations and postponements. Beginning tomorrow, March 17th, all activities will be postponed. This includes the calendar forum and Prom set for this week. I am very sorry for this, but it is unavoidable as we want to protect your students’ safety. We will set a new date for Prom at the safest, earliest opportunity.

Once again thank you for your patience and continued support of the district. Continue monitoring all Pattonsburg means of communication as we continue to update you as we have information.

Respectfully,

Scott Ireland

Superintendent
